NGC 40 - Bow Tie nebula
Cepheus
Penryn, California
July 2008
M 250 @ f9.3 (ag, ST-4)
ST-2000XM LRGB 3 minute subs

A small (37 arc second) planetary nebula.  The central star in NGC 40 is a Wolf-Rayet star and the resultant nebula contains significant krypton and Ha emissions (Likkel, et.al. 2006).  The presence of a strong Ha component creates the pinkish cast.
