A small 1.1 arc-minute magnitude 10.4 planetary with a magnitude 14 central star. 

NGC 2438 is a multi-shelled planetary with a "hot" central star.

NGC2438 is within the field of view of M46 but is not part of the cluster.

The blue channel was derived from the Luminance channel (L-R-G).
