NGC 128 is classified as SO and is the
dominant galaxy in a a group of galaxies. Surface brightness is approximately mag
11.6. Distance is 194 Mly.
Studies indicate disruption due to a minor mergers resulting in two
counter rotating nuclear disk tilted to the main axis of the galaxy forming the
x-shaped galactic core. (D'Onofrio et.al., 1999)
