NGC 4747 is a type SBcd galaxy, surface
brightness is 15.0, distance is 66 Mly. This galaxy is thought to be
tidally interacting with nearby NGC 4725. The two plumes visible at
the 11 o'clock position point to NGC 4725. (Wevers, et.al., 1984)
