NGC 4477 is classified as SBO with a surface
brightness of 12.3 mag. and a distance of 76 Mly. This galaxy is part of
the Markarian chain of bright galaxies in the Virgo group. The galaxy at
lower right is another type SBO, NGC 4479 is at 54 Mly.
