NGC 2782 is classified SBa, surface brightness is 12.2 (central area), red shift distance is 117 Mly.  NGC 2782 is a water maser driven galaxy with starburst activity within the central area and a strong outflow of gas.  Tidal tails surround the galaxy the result of a minor merger some 200 million years ago.
